The process

Step 1 – Get in contact with us

Fill out our online contact form.

The more detailed information that you can provide us in relation to your project, the more

accurate advice and information that we can provide you to ensure that your project runs smooth

from the get-go.

Step 2 – We will contact you

Once we have assessed the information that you have provided, we will contact you to

determine what level of detail plans are required (and if council approval is also required).

Step 3 – Provide us with plans

If you don’t already have plans, we will send you a list of recommended local contacts to

engage either an Architect, Designer or Draftsman (dependant on your project type).

Plans are a requirement for any extension or renovation that is going through council, and

Architects & Building Designers provide the best plans. Draftsman are suitable only for small

minor renovations.

Architect’s, Designer’s & Draftsman will also like to have as much information as you can

provide and it’s also a good idea to give them a budget to work to so that they design the

project to suit.

Engineering plans are also an integral step in the building process and we will need these

before we can conduct a proper assessment of your project.

Step 4 – We get started on your Project Proposal (fixed price quote)

Once your plans have been finalised, you can submit them to us so that we can get started

on your comprehensive, highly detailed Project Proposal (fixed price quote).

Our in-depth proposals provide you a clear and transparent costing breakdown of each of

the building components across the entire project so that you can see the exact cost of your

project before building works commence.

Step 5 – Our proposal is accepted and we lodge the project with Council

We present you with our Project Proposal (it generally takes around 2-3 weeks for us to

compile). You can then let us know of any adjustments and once it’s all good to go and you

accept our proposal, then we immediately lodge with Council (it generally takes 2-3 weeks for

Council to approve).

Step 6 – We book you in & commence the build!

Once Council approval is given, then Luna will book you into the next available time slot /

agree on a tentative start date and away we go! It is at this stage where we sign contracts

and organise QBCC Insurance for your project. We will also take a deposit at this stage (the

progress payment schedule will be stipulated in the contract, as will the build duration).

variations

Being that building is a creative process, we of course allow our clients the flexibility to make changes as the build progresses. However, to ensure this is done in a budget-conscious manner, we guarantee to price any changes prior to any work being carried out. We will not proceed with any ad hoc changes to specifications until a client authorises and signs off the change. This process ensures that our clients are fully aware of any additional costs that they will incur resulting from their change request.
